Contribution Rules

Resident Eligibility

Only individuals who normally reside in Ontario can contribute. Corporations and trade unions are prohibited from making campaign donations.

Max Contribution

The maximum contribution from a single contributor is $1,200 to a single candidate for the municipal council.

Grand Total Limit

A contributor can give a total of $5,000 to multiple candidates in the same municipality during the election cycle.

Identification

Contributions over $100 must include the contributor's full name and address on the public financial statement.
